CityShares provides grant-writing, communications, web development, and coalition coordination services for the Senior Housing Preservation - Detroit (SHP-D) Coalition.

Summer 2021

We kicked off the process to develop SHP-D’s first website by aggregating several existing documents and interviewing SHP-D leadership about the purpose, goals, and objectives of a web platform.

We are taking an incremental approach to web development that also serves as an organic vehicle for organizing SHP-D’s impact and priorities to prepare for strategic planning.

Fall 2021

SHP-D engaged CityShares to develop a proposal for a competitive senior health initiative funding program. This involved developing a programmatic theory of change and operational plan for a coordinated senior health & housing assessment initiative. CityShares developed a proposal within 48 hours, structured the $500,000 budget, and managed all follow-up with the funder.

Though not selected for this particular opportunity, the funder invited SHP-D to apply to a smaller grant program to support the first phase of the initiative, with likely support for the second phase based on results.
